6 cops booked for abetting Jind woman�s suicide
Jind, May 9
Eleven persons, including five inspectors (two retired) and a head constable, were today booked for abetting the suicide of a 35-year-old woman in Dhanauri village of Jind district. The police registered the case under Section 306 (abetment to suicide) of the Indian Penal Code after the victim�s relatives refused to hand over the body to them without bringing the accused to book.

hurt in fire aboard INS Ganga
Mumbai, May 9
Four persons, including two
sailors, were injured in a minor fire that broke out aboard naval
frigate INS Ganga this morning. The fire was reportedly caused by
accumulation of gas in a chamber of the vessel where some welding work
was on around 11 am.

Thirteen persons were killed late
last night when a passenger train hit a Bolero SUV at an unmanned
level-crossing in Uttar Pradesh. Three persons were critically injured
in the accident that took place at Horilapur village of Maharajganj
district.
