Kuljit Singh Dhatt�s family members have expressed displeasure at the sentence in Hoshiarpur. It�s justice at last for 98-year-old Parkash Kaur, the younger sister of Shaheed Bhagat Singh. Nearly 25 years after her son-in-law�s brother Kuljeet Singh Dhatt was allegedly killed by five Punjab Police personnel in Hoshiarpur district, Additional Sessions Judge Poonam R Joshi today convicted three of them in the case.

Kuljit Singh Dhatt�s family members have expressed displeasure at the sentence in Hoshiarpur.

Sensex at record high, crosses 23,000 mark
New Delhi, May 9
Anticipating a favourable outcome in the General Election next week, the BSE sensex hit a lifetime high of 23,000 points as a monster rally carried the index a whopping 650 points higher, its biggest gain since September last year. The Indian stock market was an outperformer today and the 30-share BSE index scaled its all-time high of 23,048 points with ICICI Bank, Tata Motors and Reliance Industries being the main movers.

6 cops booked for abetting Jind woman�s suicide
Jind, May 9
Eleven persons, including five inspectors (two retired) and a head constable, were today booked for abetting the suicide of a 35-year-old woman in Dhanauri village of Jind district. The police registered the case under Section 306 (abetment to suicide) of the Indian Penal Code after the victim�s relatives refused to hand over the body to them without bringing the accused to book.

4 hurt in fire aboard INS Ganga
Mumbai, May 9
Four persons, including two sailors, were injured in a minor fire that broke out aboard naval frigate INS Ganga this morning. The fire was reportedly caused by accumulation of gas in a chamber of the vessel where some welding work was on around 11 am.

13 die as train rams into vehicle
Lucknow, May 9
Thirteen persons were killed late last night when a passenger train hit a Bolero SUV at an unmanned level-crossing in Uttar Pradesh. Three persons were critically injured in the accident that took place at Horilapur village of Maharajganj district.

Won�t hold parallel probe into snoopgate, Centre assures SC

The Centre today informed the Supreme Court that there was no move to hold a parallel inquiry into the surveillance of a woman by the Narendra Modi government in Gujarat.
