Controversy over Hindi wrong, unwarranted: Kiren Rijiju
New Delhi, June 21 (ANI):
Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju said the controversy over promotion of Hindi on social media platform had been wrong and unwarranted. He said that had been misquoted as it had been just a routine circular to promote the language and had not been imposed on the states. Rijiju addressed a news conference in New Delhi and said the circular, constantly being cited in media reports, had been issued on May 27 and had been a reminder to an earlier circular issued on March 10, which had said to promote to use of Hindi language on social media. He added it was not a compulsion on the states to use Hindi language to conduct their routine business.
