A gang of unidentified thieves took away the ATM of Axis Bank in the wee hours here on Tuesday. The amount taken away was yet to be ascertained. This was second such incident here in 13 days.

The incident took place around 3 am when the criminals, who came in a pick-up van, opened the locked shutter of the shop where the ATM was located. Hearing the noise, the owner of the building rushed to the spot. The robbers pulled out a gun and threatened to kill her.

The woman reported the matter to the police after returning to her room. The criminals fled the spot before the police arrived. — TNS
