India and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) left-arm pacer T Natarajan announced the opening of his dream project. The 32-year-old pacer took to his social media handle to drop a major update as he confirmed the inauguration of his ‘Natarajan Cricket Ground’, which will take place on Friday, June 23.

Natarajan made the announcement of his dream project in December 2021, just a year after his debut for team India. He made the move to promote the sport in his village in Chinnappampatti of Salem district. The left-arm pacer took to his social media handle to share the inauguration date. He further confirmed that veteran India wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik, Chennai Super Kings CEO Kasi Vishwanathan and Indian film star Yogi Babu will be part of the inauguration.

“Extremely delighted to announce the opening of my dream-come-true project- Natarajan Cricket Ground.

- 23rd of June, 2023

- Chinnappampatti, Salem District,” captioned Natarajan on his Twitter handle.

Natarajan made his debut in international cricket during an ODI match against Australia in December 2020. Plagued with injuries, the pacer has been unable to cement his spot in the national team, which has, in turn, given others chances to rise up the ranks.

Speaking about his numbers in the international circuit, the pacer has seven scalps in four T20Is, three wickets each in two ODIs and one Test appearance. Speaking about his performance in the recently concluded IPL 2023, Natarajan featured in 12 matches for the orange outfit and claimed ten wickets under his belt at a rather underwhelming average of 9.11.

Notably, Natarajan was signed by Ba11sy Trichy for INR 6.25 lakh on the first day of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2023 auction. The competition will commence on Monday, July 12, whereas Trichy will kickstart their campaign against Dindigul Dragons on Wednesday, June 14. Though the pacer is yet to confirm his availability for the event, he will look to come all guns blazing if he features for the franchise in the forthcoming edition.
