India and Australia will play in the ICC World Test Championship final on June 7 at London's The Oval as India is working hard to get ready for the game on different conditions. In the meantime, India captain Rohit Sharma seemed assured ahead of the championship match against Australia, calling The Oval one of England's top-hitting surfaces.

Given that hitman scored a fantastic Test century when India played last on this venue, everyone will be watching Team India captain Sharma's performance in India vs Australia game. Team India faced off against England on this pitch in 2021 where the visitors defeated the hosts owing to an outstanding performance by Rohit, who scored 127 runs in 256 balls.

Ahead of the crucial match, the skipper discussed how much he is reliant on his instincts to handle bowlers as well as how the weather fluctuates all the time, which is an obstacle for players. "The weather keeps changing a lot, so you have to keep concentrating for longer periods of time and that is the challenge of this format. You have got to keep concentrating for longer periods of time. You will get that intuition when to take the bowlers on, and you have to be ready for it," said Sharma as quoted by India Today.

It is about giving yourself the best chance of having success here: Sharma

Rohit feels that knowing the scoring patterns of former players who have had success at the Oval won’t be a bad idea. "You have to understand what your strengths are. It is nice to know the pattern of scoring runs here as we know that this is one of the best batting wickets in England. You get value for your shots, the square boundaries are quite quick, and it is about giving yourself the best chance of having success here," he further added.

India and Australia are set to clash for the ICC World Test Championship title in its second cycle, with the final beginning on June 7 at the Oval in London. India lost the WTC 2021 final against New Zealand, who became the inaugural champion by beating Virat Kohli’s men by eight wickets at the Rose Bowl in Southampton.

Australia topped the WTC points table in the 2021-23 cycle with 66.67 points percent (PCT) in 19 Tests, while India made a cut for the final with 58.8 PCT after beating the Kangaroos 2-1 in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy series at home.
