300 felicitated at annual function

SST: Ludhiana: Over 300 students were felicitated during Aagaaz, annual function of Maya Devi Goyal Public Senior Secondary School, Pohir village, Mandi Ahmedgarh.



Ludhiana: Over 300 students were felicitated during Aagaaz, annual function of Maya Devi Goyal Public Senior Secondary School, Pohir village, Mandi Ahmedgarh. Justice Daya Chaudhary was the chief guest. Vice-Chairman Rajinder Goyal and director advocate Sukhjinder Singh Behal gave away prizes to outstanding performers in academics, sports and extracurricular activities. Justice Daya Chaudhary called upon residents of the region to focus on education of their wards in general and daughters in particular.

Annual function celebrations

The annual function of Delhi Public School, Khanna, was organised on campus, in which students, who performed excellently in academics and sports events, were honoured. Gurpreet Singh GP, MLA from Bassi Pathana, was the chief guest. Students Gurpreet Singh appealed to students to study dedicatedly and take part in sports for a sound mind and sound body.

Abracadabra annual function

Sat Paul Mittal School organised its annual function, Abracadabra, in which students of Class II, V, VIII and XI participated. Rakesh Agrawal, Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana, was the chief guest. The cultural extravaganza comprised a rich blend of enthralling music, dance and drama items. The fiesta started with a Kathak performance, followed by song Abracadabra, a tale of a young voyager who embarks on a journey of a life time through an enchanted land with mythical creatures and haunted forests.

Social Science project week

Darshan Academy organised a “Social science project week” for its students. The theme was “Save water, save life”. Students prepared various models on the basis of learning methodology. Little champions of the school prepared beautiful charts and models with the help of their teachers. Middle class students exhibited use of cloth, cotton, cardboard and various other items to give shape to their imagination. Senior students displayed two dimensional and three dimensional models using rocks, pebbles, dry leaves, newspapers, charts, sticks, and a tremendous range of colours.

Awareness on mother tongue

To bring awareness among students regarding importance of their mother tongue, a Punjabi declamation contest was held at Guru Nanak International Public School, Model Town, Ludhiana. Students of Class VI, VII, VIII participated in the inter-house competition. Topics discussed were ‘Dhan Nanak Teri Vadi Kamaayi’, ‘Mithat Nivi Nanka Gun Changiayaan Tat’, ‘So Kuun Mandha Akhiye, Jit Jamein Raajan’ and ‘Mann Jeete Jag Jeet’.

SST, vedic maths quiz held

DAV School, Pakhowal Road, organised a social science and vedic maths quiz for students. Sunil Jethi from Little Einstein and Dr Satwant Kaur Bhullar presided over the event. Each round of the quiz witnessed a nail-biting contest. Principal Satwant Kaur Bhullar lauded the students for participating in the event.

Career counselling seminar

Sacred Heart Convent Senior Secondary School, Khanna, organised a career counselling seminar for Class XI and XII students. The course works has been formulated by Sumit Wason of UPES, Dehradun, under the supervision of Rev Fr William Sahota, Rev Sr Rose Philips. The programme laid emphasis on development of practical knowledge, including engineering, computer science, designing, business world, law, health sciences, media and agriculture to suit needs of changing times.

Annual function celebrations

Saint Bir Santosh Public School celebrated its annual function. Students of pre-nursery to Clasd X participated in various performances, including Marathi, Rajasthani, Malhari and Gujarati dance. Principal Santosh Bakshi presented the annual report.

Cultural fiesta organised

Mount Litera Zee School celebrated its 4th annual cultural fiesta with great zeal and enthusiasm. The occasion was graced by Bhupinder Singh Sidhu, AIG, Ludhiana, and Sumit Mishra, business head of Mount Litera Zee School. The cultural programme revolved around the theme of patriotism, brotherhood, unity in diversity and social issues. The highlight of the day was a theatre production on ‘The battle of Saragarhi’. The annual school report of the session was read by Principal Daljit Kaur Bhangoo. Giddha and bhangra performances set the stage on fire. The chief guest felicitated the students with awards. He also presented scholarships to meritorious students who excelled in academics and sports. TNS
