Border Security Force (BSF) personnel, in a joint operation with Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officials, confiscated 2 kg of heroin stuffed in a plastic pipe in an agricultural field across the barbed fence on Sunday.
In a press statement released here, NCB Superintendent Sachin Gulariya said the search was conducted near the Kakkar border outpost under the supervision of RC Sharma, Commandant, 17 Battalion, Ramtirath, following a tip-off. After spotting the pipe, the sleuths cut it open to seize heroin.
A case under the NDPS Act has been registered at the NCB office. He said further investigation was on to ascertain the identity of the people involved in the illegal trade.
