Event dwells on stress mgmt through yoga

AMRITSAR: A seminar on ‘Stress Management: Role of Yoga and Meditation’ was organised jointly by the Physical Education Department of DAV College, Amritsar, and Akhil Bhartiya Santmat Satsang (ABSS) at DAV College here on Monday.

A seminar on ‘Stress Management: Role of Yoga and Meditation’ was organised jointly by the Physical Education Department of DAV College, Amritsar, and Akhil Bhartiya Santmat Satsang (ABSS) at DAV College here on Monday.

College Principal Dr Rajesh Kumar, project co-ordinator and former vice-principal of DAV College prof H S Walia, and head physical education department Dr BB Yadav extended floral welcome to chief guest Mudit Goyal, assistant vice-president, HSBC Bank (Hongkong and Shanghai Corp), and key-speakers Dr RP Singh, Dr Sanjay Kapoor and Anoop Sood.

Prof HS Walia set the ball rolling by elaborating on various types of yoga and meditation and their respective benefits. Principal Rajesh Kumar hammered on the importance of meditation for students in attaining higher ranks in academic and competitive exams.

Anoop Sood and Dr RP Singh dwelled on the methodology of “Anand Yog”, a process of meditation devised by ABSS (Delhi). Chief guest Mudit Goyal motivated the students and teachers to include meditation and yoga in their daily chores to lead healthy and happy life.
