Chandigarh, October 25
The 48th edition of SN Vohra’s All-India Gurmit Memorial Hockey Tournament will be held at the Sector 42 Sports Complex here from October 28.
Fourteen teams will participate in the eight-day-long tournament, which is being organised by the Rock Rovers Hockey Club — an affiliate unit of Hockey Chandigarh.
Apart from defending champions Punjab National Bank and runners-up Indian Air Force, the 48th edition of the tournament will feature Punjab & Sind Bank, SC Railway, ITBP, EME, Hockey Patiala, Central Railway (Mumbai), Ropar Hawks, CRPF, Punjab Police, Northern Railway, SGGS-26 and Chandigarh XI, the orgnaisers said here today.
The winners will get Rs 1 lakh, while the runners-up will fetch Rs 60,000. — TNS
