Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) activists led by local MLA and Haryana Women and Child Development Minister Kavita Jain held a protest against the Congress for allegedly trying to misguide people over the Rafale deal at Geeta Bhawan Chowk on Tuesday.
They also burnt the effigy of Congress president Rahul Gandhi. Addressing the protesters, Jain said the Congress government started the Rafale deal in 2007, but could not finalise it up to 2014, whereas the BJP government at the Centre finalised it within two years, holding 74 meetings in this regard.
Jain claimed that the BJP was ready for discussion on the issue in Parliament, but the Congress was not ready to participate fearing that the people would become aware of the truth.
“Despite clean chit to the Central government on this matter from the Supreme Court, the minister said the Congress leaders continued to level baseless allegations,” she alleged.
Karnal: Holding a protest, BJP leaders of the Karnal unit accused the Congress leaders of misleading the society by accusing the Union Government led by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for irregularities in the Rafale deal. They handed over a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Aditya Dahiya for the President and sought apology from Congress president Rahul Gandhi. BJP leaders led by district president Jagmohan Anand also raised slogans against the Congress.
Ambala: The BJP workers led by Minister of State for Labour and Employment Nayab Singh Saini and district party chief Jagmohan Lal held a protest against Congress president Rahul Gandhi and also burnt his effigy in Ambala City. Saini said, “The Congress has been making incorrect and false statements in context with the Rafale deal. Rahul has failed. The Congress is trying to mislead the countrymen.”
