Yamunanagar, July 21
The Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department has taken samples of pesticides, insecticides, weedicides and fungicides to stop the sale of misbranded chemicals in the district.
Surinder Yadav, Deputy Director Agriculture, Yamunanagar, said that on the direction of Deputy Commissioner Girish Arora a drive was launched to stop the sale of misbranded chemicals to farmers.
He said that a team headed by the Quality Control Inspector of the department, Rakesh Kumar, inspected private dealers of the Chhachhrauli block in the district recently and collected six samples of pesticide, insecticide, weedicide and fungicide.
“The samples will be sent to the pesticides testing laboratory in Karnal. If the samples are found misbranded, the defaulters will be prosecuted,” said Yadav. He added that the drive to lift samples would continue. — TNS
