Members of a team of the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) were on Saturday allegedly manhandled by a resident of Brahmin Majra village in the district.

In a complaint to the Mahesh Nagar police, SDO (Operations) Aditosh Singh alleged that the team raided the house of Rajeev around 9 am to check power theft. After the raid, Rajeev signed the document. When the team was removing the meter as per the UHBVN’s instruction, the consumer started manhandling the team members.

Meanwhile, Rajeev went inside the house, brought some money and spread it on the road. The whole incident was videographed. Rajeev tried to influence the team by mentioning political connections. He threatened that he would get all members of the team transferred within a week. Besides this, he also threatened a junior engineer of the department, alleged the SDO.
