Herbal park of CDLU inaugurated

Sirsa: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar inaugurated a herbal park and an extension building of boy’s hostel number-1 of Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa. The park was established at an estimated cost of Rs 2.72 crore while the hostel building was completed at an estimated cost of Rs 3.86 crore.



Sirsa: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar inaugurated a herbal park and an extension building of boy’s hostel number-1 of Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa. The park was established at an estimated cost of Rs 2.72 crore while the hostel building was completed at an estimated cost of Rs 3.86 crore. The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone of the university’s centre for distance learning building which will be constructed for Rs 2 crore. Vice-Chancellor Prof Vijay Kumar Kayat stated that the park was constructed partially with RUSA grant and university grant. It is spread over 5 acres.

Karnal students participate in international event

Karnal: Pratap Public School, Karnal, participated in an international event on history -- Reflections 2019 -- organised by The City Montessori School, Lucknow, wherein 65 schools from all over the country and abroad competed. Pratapians showcased their skills in a variety of events like debate, group discussion, role play, model-making, brochure-making and dance. They brought glory to the school by winning the title of the Most Courteous team.

Students take CSC initiative

Sonepat: Law students of the OP Jindal Global University, Sonepat, have taken the initiative to work on their “Community Score Card” (CSC) which is also known as community voice card. CSC is a participatory, community-based monitoring tool that enables citizens to assess the quality of public services such as health centre, anganwadi and public transportation. The CSC process empowers the public to voice their opinion and demand improved service delivery. Students have trained para-legal volunteers who will be working with them throughout the project. The next step for the project is to organise camps and sessions in the villages with the help of district legal services authority to make the citizens realise the need for CSC, said Yukti Kumar, one of the students.

431 blood units donated at MLN College

Yamunanagar: Mukand Lal National College, Yamunanagar, organised 48th blood donation mela to celebrate the birth anniversary of the founder of the college Seth Jai Parkash. As many as 431 units were donated. Officiating principal Dr Rahul Khanna said, “Beginning in 1972 till date, the college has made about 16,000 donations, highest being 612 in 2012,” said Khanna. Meanwhile, the sixth blood donation mela was organised at Mukand Lal Public School, Sarojini Colony, Yamunanagar. Principal Shashi Bathla said that a large number of alumni, parents, teaching staff and other city dwellers contributed 315 units of blood.
