LUDHIANA: Hosts Ludhiana survived a scare against Patiala before winning the final to lift the title in kho-kho in the 65th Inter-District School Games for Boys (U-19) that concluded at Government Senior Secondary School, Jawahar Nagar, here today.

Hosts Ludhiana survived a scare against Patiala before winning the final to lift the title in kho-kho in the 65th Inter-District School Games for Boys (U-19) that concluded at Government Senior Secondary School, Jawahar Nagar, here today.

In the final, Ludhiana warded off stiff challenge from Patiala before scrambling past 11-8 to lift the winners’ trophy.

Earlier in the semifinals, Ludhiana defeated Jalandhar 8-3 and Patiala survived some anxious moments against Sangrur before wrapping up the issue 15-13 to enter the final.

In the hard-line cup match, Sangrur scored a comfortable 10-4 over Jalandhar to secure bronze medal.

Rupinder Singh Ravi, State Organiser, Punjab School Games; and Swaranjit Kaur, District Education Officer, were guests of honour at the prize distribution function.

Among others who were present there include Ajit Pal Singh, Assistant Education Officer, Ludhiana; Sukhwinder Singh, AEO, Kapurthala; Principal Rajesh Kumar, Malwinder Singh, Makhan Singh Sahnewal, Dalvinder Singh Minhas, Kesar Singh, Deepak Kumar, Baljit Kaur and Harminder Kaur.
