BVM boys finish runners-up in chess tourney

LUDHIANA: Students of Bhartiya Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Udham Singh Nagar, finished as runners-up in the boys’ U-14 section during the Ludhiana Sahodaya School Complex (LSSC) Chess Tournament.



Ludhiana, January 24

Students of Bhartiya Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Udham Singh Nagar, finished as runners-up in the boys’ U-14 section during the Ludhiana Sahodaya School Complex (LSSC) Chess Tournament.

The tournament was held at BCM Senior Secondary School, Basant City, on Wednesday.

Daman, Ansh Anand, Bisman Singh, Pratham Kohli and Ridham represented BVM, Udham Singh Nagar, in the tournament and made their presence felt, securing 11.5 points to finish at the second place.

Girl students of the school — Klodia, Siya Sharma, Tashika Sharma, Vanshika Anand and Ruhani Sharma — played well in the competition and accumulated 10 points, however, they could not finish among position holders.

Principal Bandana Sethi congratulated the winners. She applauded the efforts of sports in-charge Baljeet Singh Gill and the staff of the school sports department for bringing laurels to the institution. — OC
