Sports meet: Anu, Birpal adjudged best athletes

LUDHIANA: Anu Rani and Birpal Kaur were adjudged the best athletes in the junior and senior category, respectively, in the second Annual Athletics Meet of Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Gill village, on Friday.

Ludhiana, December 1

Anu Rani and Birpal Kaur were adjudged the best athletes in the junior and senior category, respectively, in the second Annual Athletics Meet of Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Gill village, on Friday.

The duo grabbed three gold medals each. Anu Rani won 100-m sprint, 200-m race and long jump events whereas Birpal Kaur emerged victorious in 800-m race, long jump and shot put disciplines. Students from the Sarojini Naidu House accumulated the maximum points to bag the best house trophy. Participants, representing different houses, competed in various disciplines during the one-day sport meet.
