A security supervisor at a high-rise here has been booked for brutally thrashing a stray dog and trying to bury it alive. The act has been recorded in CCTV footage.
Animal lovers and activists took the injured dog to hospital. Following a complaint, an FIR was registered. The president of the housing society’s RWA could not be contacted for comment.
Chetna Joshi, an animal rights activist, reported that the stray dog entered Uniworld Garden-2 in Sector 47 on Friday evening.
The security supervisor chased the dog and thrashed it with sticks. He and a guard took it outside the society premises and tried to bury it.
“They almost buried the dog alive. Residents Simran and Sheela came on hearing the dog cry and the accused fled. The dog is in a critical condition with multiple injuries,” said Chetna.
“We are viewing CCTV footage of the housing society. Action will be taken as per the law,” said Sadar SHO Basant Chauhan.
