Man flees after killing mother, injuring wife, three kids

In a shocking incident, a motor mechanic (32), allegedly, killed his mother and injured his wife and three children at Tepla village of Shambu block in the district. The incident took place on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday when suspect Harjinder attacked his family members.

The police said the incident came to light on Saturday morning when neighbours got suspicious. They took suspect’s wife and three children to a hospital in Ambala from where they were referred to the GMCH-32, Chandigarh, the police added. The suspect fled after committing the crime, the police said.  The deceased has been identified as Naib Kaur (60), suspect’s mother.

The police said preliminary probe revealed that the suspect had attacked his mother with a blunt weapon. The Shambu SHO, Prem Singh, said there were injury marks on the body of deceased. A family dispute might have triggered the incident, the SHO added. — TNS
