Parushi claimed a fifer before a late blitzkrieg by Kashvee Gautam helped Chandigarh register a three-wicket win over Goa after the side was reduced to 73/7 during their Women’s U-23 T20 Trophy match in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, today.
Chasing 105 runs for victory, Chandigarh were rocked early as they lost both their openers for just 21 runs. Twinkle was dismissed by Metali Gawandar for six runs, while Muskan Singh was run out on seven.
Captain Amanjot Kaur batted with responsibility but wickets kept tumbling at the other end, with Shivangi Yadav (8), Shivani Thakur (6), Nandani Sharma (5) and Suman Verma (5) making a hasty retreat to the pavilion.
Amanjot fell to Tejaswini Duragad after scoring a 34-ball 33, leaving her side to score 31 runs in 23 balls for victory. Kashvee then took the charge and smashed a 16-ball 31, including three boundaries and a six, to help the team reach home on the last ball of the match. Parushi remained not out on four.
Tejaswini (2/17) and Purvaja Verlekar (2/18) took two wickets each.
Earlier, Parushi-led Chandigarh attack struck at regular intervals to bundle out Goa for 104 runs after skipper Sanjula Naik had elected to bat.
Parushi returned with figures of 5/11 in her 3.2 overs, while Twinkle (2/5) and Kumari Shibi (2/23) bagged two wickets apiece.
Opener Purvaja (43) did the bulk of scoring for Goa.
