Religious leaders from Hindu and Muslim communities and public thinkers today reposed faith in the rule of law and Constitution of India and resolved to honour the decision of the Supreme Court on Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Edit: Ayodhya verdict

In the backdrop of the Saturday’s verdict, the leaders today interacted with National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and appealed to all countrymen to abide by the apex court decision, emphasising national interests overrode all other considerations, official sources said.

Extending their full cooperation to the government in ensuring peace, communal harmony and upholding the rule of law, the leaders pledged their unstinted support to the government in all measures it may take to maintain peace and order in the society.

The religious leaders noted with satisfaction that millions of Indians belonging to both communities displayed great sense of responsibility, sensitivity and restraint in accepting the court verdict.
