Karnal: JPS Academy, Assandh, organised Tiny Tots show, an annual function for juniors. Students of pre-nursery, nursery and KG participated in the event. Modelling, gidha and bhangra marked the event, which had an underlying theme encompassing various subjects — environment, water, social evils, and disadvantages of mobile phones. IGP Satparkash Ranha was the chief guest. He appreciated the talent of the students.

STUDENT WINDOW AT YMCA

Faridabad: The JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, has restructured the student charter to ensure timely delivery of various services related to academic section to students. Also, a ‘student window’ has been opened to provide the services under a single-window system. Dean (academics) Dr Vikram Singh said in all, the window would cater to 12 services identified so far. The initiative outlines the commitment of the university as a public sector organisation towards standard, quality, time frame of service delivery, grievance redressal, transparency and accountability. It will also expedite the delivery of the services identified. In addition, after successful implementation of the services, the window will cater to more services in the future. At present, the window will cover processing of documents such as re-admission certificates, migration document, issuance of identity card, character certificate, bonafide certificate, preparation of bus pass, verification of various scholarship forms, correction in particulars, certificate verification and submission of no dues. 

27TH ANNUAL DAY CELEBRATED 

Karnal: Nishan Public School celebrated its 27th annual function with pomp and show. Indri MLA Ram Kumar Kashyap and director of the school, Saurabh Singla, chaired the function. Students performed various cultural activities with great zeal. Principal PN Tiwari presented the annual report. Kashyap was also the chief guest at the event and gave away prizes to the students, who excelled in sports and education.

BLOOD TEST TRAINING CAMP HELD 

Sonepat: Around 70 per cent of anemic patients are women, with every third girl child between the age group of 12 to 18 years having a blood deficiency for want of nutrition rich diet, including fruits and green vegetables. This was stated by Prof Sushma Yadav, Vice-Chancellor of BPS Women University, Khanpur Kalan, while inaugurating a one-day blood test training camp. The medicine and maternity department of Maru Singh Memorial Ayurvedic College, Khanpur Kalan, in collaboration with Virmani Diagnosis Centre, Gohana, organised the event in the university premises. Hemoglobin and iron profile of around 250 students was tested in the camp. 

SPORTS TOURNEY FOR GIRLS 

Kaithal: DAV national sports tournament for girls was organised at a national-level at DAV Public School, Thermal Colony, Panipat. It was held under the aegis of DAVCMC, New Delhi. Schools from 15 zones participated in it. OSDAV, Kaithal, students performed wonderfully in yoga, boxing and chess. Komal and Ananya of class X won a gold medal in yoga; Lashu Yadav of class XI won a gold medal in boxing; and Tamanna and Akshita of class XI, Aastha of class VIII and Palak of class VII won a bronze medal in chess. Suman Nijhawan, Principal-cum-Regional Officer, congratulated the players and wished them well for their bright future.
