As many as 42 authors will take part in the first two-day Dehradun Literature Fest at ONGC Officer’s Club here on February 17 and 18. The fest will have participation of some of the highly acclaimed Indian performers, writers, theatre personalities, business leaders and visual artistes.

The fest will witness a host of litterateurs, academics, journalists, artistes and musicians which will be engaged in over 15 panel discussions on the issues ranging from gender equity and politics to ideas, love and literature.

Director Heads Up Samraant Virmani, one of the host organisations of the festival, addressing a press conference here today, said the fest would give an opportunity to youngsters and literature enthusiasts.

He has said authors from all over the country are taking part in the fest. “These include Piyush Mishra, Laxmi Narayan Tripathi, Padmashri Ashok Chakradhar Savi Sharma, Dr. Rakshanda Jalil, Suchitra Krishnamoorthi, Divya Prakash Dubey, Dr. Bijaylaxmi Nanda and Hridayesh Joshi,” he said.

Talking about the importance of Dehradun Literature Fest, Anurag Chauhan from Humans for Humanity, co-host, said the literature fest initiative would bring exposure to education capital of the country.

We wish to get eminent personalities from India and abroad to the education capital of India every year. They will interact with residents and thousands of students of the Doon Valley and make them more aware intellectually.
