The J&K Board of School Education has established 1,225 exam centres for more than 1,20,000 students who are going to appear in the Class X, XI and XII annual board examination of the summer zone in the Jammu province.

The Class X examination will be held from February 29 to March 18. The practical examination in science, home science, computer science and music will be held from March 24.

Class X exam from Feb 29

  • The Class X examination will be held from February 29 to March 18. The Class XI exam will commence on March 19, while the Class XII exam will be held from February 27 to March 26
  • For the Class X exam, 541 centres have been set up for 53,626 candidates. As many as 39,527 candidates will appear in the Class XI board exam at 368 centres and 33,741 candidates will appear in the Class XII exam at 316 centres

The Class XI examination will commence on March 19, while the Class XII examination will be held from February 27 to March 26. The examination of Class X and XII will start at 11 am.

A total of 1,26,894 students of Class X, XI and XII will appear in the exams.

For the Class X exam, 541 centres have been set up for 53,626 candidates. As many as 39,527 candidates will appear in the Class XI board exam at 368 centres across the Jammu province. A total of 33,741 candidates will appear in the Class XII board exam at 316 centres.

There is, however, a slight increase in the strength of both candidates and exam centres this year as compared to 2019.

Last year, 38,945 Class XII students had appeared in the annual board exam at 359 exam centres. For the Class X exam, 539 centres were set up for more than 52,000 students.

“There will be adequate deployment of police personnel at all exam centres. Section 144 will also be imposed outside the exam halls to prevent assembling of people near the venues,” said a board official.

“All necessary arrangements have already been made for the smooth conduct of the exam at the established centres and necessary instructions also being circulated to the superintendents of the exam centres,” the official added.
