Ludhiana, March 17
As many as 14 water samples collected from different residential areas located near Buddha Nullah have failed quality test.
The Health Department had collected these samples in February and these have been found to be non-potable. These water samples were collected from New Vishnupuri, Upkar Nagar, Jeevan Nagar, Fatehgarh Mohalla, Gandhi Nagar and Bhola Colony, which are located near Buddha Nullah. The Health Department has sent a report to the MC, Deputy Commissioner and the Local Bodies Department in this regard.
The Civil Surgeon office has given recommendations to the civic body to ensure chlorination of water in these areas to avert spread of water-borne diseases.
