Chandigarh, December 13

Three flights were cancelled while 29 were delayed at the city international airport today due to poor visibility and bad weather.

Twelve of these flights arrived late even as 17 others departed late from the airport. Air India flights to Kullu and Dharamsala were cancelled. A GoAir flight to Srinagar was also cancelled for the second day in a row.

According to Air India station manager MR Jindal, the flights were cancelled due to poor visibility and bad weather.

Notably, the installation of the CAT III-B instrument landing system, which allows flights to land even when the visibility is as low as 50 metres, has been delayed until next year. Airport spokeperson Prince Dildar said several flights were delayed due to poor weather conditions at the airports in Delhi and Srinagar. — TNS
