35 rural kids leave for 6-day Bharat Darshan

JAMMU: The Border Security Forces (BSF) has flagged off the ‘Bharat Darshan’ tour of children hailing from the remote areas of Jammu region on Wednesday.

The Border Security Forces (BSF) has flagged off the ‘Bharat Darshan’ tour of children hailing from the remote areas of Jammu region on Wednesday.

The aim of the tour is to give exposure to the children about the rich heritage, culture and grandeur of our nation. In all, 35 children, including 20 boys and 15 girls, in the age group of 12 to 17 years, were selected from the remote border areas.

During the six-day tour, the children will get an opportunity to visit various monuments in Gujarat like the Statue of Unity, Sabarmati Ashram, Akshardham Temple, Science city, Amul Dairy, Sabarmati riverfront, vintage car museum and other monuments in Ahmadabad and across the state.

Addressing the children, NS Jamwal, IG, BSF, Jammu, said a man learns when he steps out of his surroundings and those who were selected for this tour out of thousands of children in the UT of J&K were really lucky.

Besides guarding the borders, the BSF is also playing an active role in national integration by the way of conducting such tours for the children of the remote areas.
