44th athletics meet held at school in Punjabi University

Patiala, February 12

Senior Secondary Model School, Punjabi University, Patiala, organised its 44th athletics meet on the university campus today. The meet was dedicated to the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev.

As many as 81 field and track events were held during the sports extravaganza in which all school students participated. Dr BS Ghuman, Vice-Chancellor (VC), Punjabi University, was the chief guest on the occasion.

While presenting the annual report Principal SK Nirmal Goyal mentioned achievements of the school during the 2019-20 academic session.

She said the commerce result of Class X and XII was 100 per cent. Students of Class XII (Arts) scored 98.5 per cent and of Class XII (Science) scored 88.90 per cent, she added. Khushandeep Kaur of Class X bagged 10th position in the merit list of the Punjab School Education Board by scoring 98.3 per cent marks, she said. “She also won a bronze medal in fencing at the national level,” she added.
