6 drug peddlers attack STF team during raid in Kapurthala, arrested

Kapurthala, December 12  

Six suspected drug peddlers attacked a special task force team with bricks during a raid at a village here, injuring two policemen, officials said on Thursday.

On Wednesday night, the accused attacked the members of the STF and also snatched a pistol from an assistant superintendent of police who had led the team, the police said.

One kilogramme of drugs, Rs 13 lakh in cash, one pistol and a motorcycle was seized from them, they said.

The peddlers had escaped from the spot but were apprehended hours later, police said, adding that they have been booked. — PTI
