The growing violence and unrest in capital has left people divided into two categories. A Twitter user’s tweet about firing two Muslim employees for their anti-CAA stance is going viral.

While people are entitled to have their opinion—this Twitter user, Barkha Trehan’s tweet about firing two Muslim employees has sparked a debate online.

Trehan’s tweet said: “2 Muslim employees of my company had shared Anti-CAA/NPR/NRC posts on their WhatsApp statuses. I HAVE FIRED THEM both with immediate effect. No matter Muslim or Hindu, if you are against CAA/NPR/NRC, I won’t employ you in my company. Jai Hind 🇮🇳 #IsupportCAA #ISupportCAA_NRC.”

After Trehan’s tweet went viral, another Twitter user came forward in support of the two fired Muslim employees.

The Twitter user, Nенr_wно, who has more than one lakh followers retweeted Trehan’s tweet and “gave” them a job “with immediate effect”.

The tweet read: “The 2 Muslim employees whom you have fired. I HAVE EMPLOYD THEM both with immediate effect. No matter Muslim or Hindu,if you are against CAA/NPR/NRC, I WILL employ you in my company. Jai Hind.”

Trehan, who calls herself an activist (according to her bio), runs her own-event management business. She recently turned into a social activist.

This story earlier mentioned that Trehan was associated with the Save Indian Family (SIF) Movement. However, a statement has been received from the SIF Movement denying her association with the body, following which the report has been updated.
