The district administration has issued an appeal to the public not to carry more than Rs 50,000 in cash as the model code of conduct for the Lok Sabha elections has already come into force. The authorities have also asked the people not to transport costly items without carrying proper documentary evidence regarding their ownership.

Additional District Electoral Officer-cum-Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Himanshu Aggarwal said people could inform about any person carrying cash or valuables worth over Rs 10 lakh, which could be used to lure voters during elections, to the authorities at toll free number 18001804814. He added that the helpline was available round the clock and the identity of the informers would be kept secret.
