17 succumb, 445 new cases in Amritsar

Amritsar, May 11

The district health authorities reported a total of 17 deaths on Tuesday. With this, the toll has increased to 1,139 in the district. The authorities also reported 445 new cases and the total count increased to 38,247.

The new cases include 282 influenza like illness cases and 163 contacts of positive cases. The health authorities have also reported recovery of 220 cases and the recovery count has improved to 31,216. At present, the district has a total of 5,892 active cases.

The deceased include Aarti, a 20-year-old from Ajnala; Surjit Walia of Nayyar Avenue; Harpreet Singh (32) of Bhalla Colony (Chhehharta); Gurmeet Singh (33) of Kapoor Nagar (Sultanwind road); Manoj Sondhi (40) of Hargobind Avenue; Tarsem Singh (47) of Jaura Fatak; Rajesh Kumar (45) of Putlighar; Dalbir Kaur (65) of Kathunangal; Veero (45) of 88-feet road; Vijay Kumar (74) of Beri Gate; Lakhwinder Singh (28) of Fatahpur; Lakhbir Singh (65) of New Greenfield; Kulwinder Singh (52) of Wadali road; Kamal Kishore (69) of Suraj Avenue; Kanta Mahajan (74) of B-block Ranjit Avenue; Gurdit Singh (90) of Satowal Baba Bakala and Balwinder Kaur (50) of New Hargobind Avenue.

Four die in Tarn Taran

The district authorities reported four deaths on Tuesday. With this, the death toll reached 247. The Health Department reported 64 new Covid-19 positive cases in the district . The deceased include Sukhwinder Singh (60), Kirandeep Kaur (21), Ranbir Singh (38) and Sundar Lal (60).
