Two teams of the district Special Task Force (STF) on Thursday arrested two persons and seized 650 gm of heroin and Rs 1.5 lakh from their possession.
The accused have been booked under Sections 21, 29, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act. Inspector Sukhwinder Singh Randhawa, in-charge of the STF, said a team, led by ASI Harjinder Singh, nabbed Tarsem Singh Kairon of Mohalla Jaswant Singh from the local drain bridge, who was riding his motorcycle (PB-46-Q-9234). His accomplice Ajaipal Singh of Jandiala Guru managed to escape from the spot.Similarly, a team, led by ASI Gurinder Singh, arrested Avtar Singh of Gilwali village (Amritsar), who was on his Activa (PB-02-DM-1503) and seized 150 gm of heroin and Rs 1.5 lakh. — OC
