Amritsar, April 23
The police booked two employees of a gold loan firm on a charge of cheating customers here on Monday. The accused have been identified as Sunil Arora, a resident of Shri Ram Avenue, Majitha Road, and Kuldeep Kumar of Budheya Mandi village in Himachal Pradesh.
In his police complaint, Ashwani Kumar, manager of the company, said the accused were working as customer care executive with the gold loan firm branch at Ganga Building, GT Road, Putlighar. Both accused took gold from customers at the time of sanctioning them loan. But the accused deposited ‘fake gold’ instead of the original or less fineness gold. The accused took installments from the customers but did not deposit in their accounts thus cheated them of Rs 11,15,637.
A case has been registered in this regard.— TNS
