2 snatching incidents reported

AMRITSAR: Three motorcycle-borne persons, equipped with sharp weapons, injured a youth before snatching his cash, mobile phone and his bike in Ajnala here on Friday evening.

Three motorcycle-borne persons, equipped with sharp weapons, injured a youth before snatching his cash, mobile phone and his bike in Ajnala here on Friday evening. The victim has been identified as Sukhbir Singh, a resident of Dharamkot village, falling under Bhindi Saida police station.

He stated to the police that he was going to his village from Ajnala on his bike when he was intercepted by the accused near the Ajnala college. The assault left Sukhbir injured on his ribs. They took away his purse containing Rs 10,000 in cash and a mobile phone along with his bike.

In another incident, Kanwaljit Singh of Sadhupur village complained to the police that he was going from Mehta Chowk to his village when two unknown persons snatched his purse and mobile phone.

“As I turned towards my village from Mehta road, the bike-borne snatchers intercepted me and snatched my belongings,” he stated.

Police authorities said that a case under Sections 379-B (2) and 34 of the IPC was registered and further investigation was under progress.
