The farmers of villages in the border area that were affected by floods in the year 2023 due to a breach in the Sutlej apprised Baba Sukha Singh, head of Kar Sewa sect, Sarhali, of their problems which have not been resolved. These farmers held a meeting in Bhangala village in which the residents of Muthianwala village along with Rasulpur, Ram Singh Wala, Jhugian Natha Singh, Jhugian Noor Muhammad and Dhakka Vasti were present.
Gurmej Singh, Gurbakhsh Singh, Bhoop Singh, Beant Singh, Nohar Singh, Baldev Singh, Milkha Singh, Sarpanch Harpal Singh, Angrej Singh and others from different villages shared their views. The farmers informed Baba Sukha Singh that in spite of tough toil, more than 1,500 acres of their agricultural land has not been cleared of sand and silt from the river. As a result, the land has still not become cultivable. They appreciated the services of Baba Sukha Singh who worked physically to plug the breach that took place in river Sutlej.
Baba Sukha Singh appealed to the Sangat to dedicate themselves to Sikhism for leading a peaceful and happy life. The residents of the villages honoured Baba Sukha Singh for the services rendered for the welfare of flood-affected farmers and people in the area.
Baba Sukha Singh, on behalf of the sect, assured to extend all assistance in times of need.
