MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla on Thursday held a meeting with Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kamaldeep Singh Sangha and Army officials, including GoC HS Brar, regarding the dilapidated bridges on Sakki drain. Aujla said there were around 22 bridges on the drain alongside the India-Pakistan border which needed urgent repair.
During winters, these bridges become death traps as dense fog engulfs the region and vehicle drivers find it tough to notice the bridges due to poor visibility. He informed that the Centre and the state government had approved the repair, widening and upgradation of these bridges and the work for the same would be commenced soon.
