250 students awarded degrees

AMRITSAR: SGPC’s institute Trai Shatabdi Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College held its convocation ceremony on Sunday at its campus. Gobind Singh Longowal, president of the SGPC, was chief guest of the convocation while Rajinder Singh Mehta, member, SGPC, was also present on the occasion. Dr Rupinder Singh, principal of the college, introduced faculty members to the worthy guests. Dr Rupinder Singh, Principal, TSGGS Khalsa College, read out the college report and shared achievements of the students as well as the awards won under academics and co-curricular activities. As many as 250 degrees were awarded to graduate and post-graduate students. TNS

Doctorate conferred

Amritsar: Mangal Singh Kishanpuri, managing director of Saint Soldier schools, has been conferred with a doctorate degree by the University of Asia. Mangal Singh started his career at grass-roots level and provided his services very well at government schools and started Saint Soldier Elite Convent School at Jandiala Guru. His only motive was to provide quality education to poor and needy students by charging minimum fees. A grand party was organised by members of the staff and management committee of  Saint Soldier Group of Schools. TNS
