255 centres to be set up for PSEB exams

AMRITSAR: A total of 255 centres for the Class X and Class XII PSEB exams will be set up in the district in March.

A total of 255 centres for the Class X and Class XII PSEB exams will be set up in the district in March.

Officials of the district Education Department are set to ensure that the examinations are conducted in a smooth manner. The authorities have already provided a list of teachers who have been assigned the examination duties to the head office.

District Education Officer (Secondary) Salvinder Samra, said, “We have the information regarding the staff who has been assigned the exam duty. The state Education Department will decide on the duties. Moreover, superintendents from outside Amritsar will perform the exam duty.”

Close to 35,000 students of Class X and around 31, 000 students of Class XII will appear for the board examinations.

The students will not appear for the exams in their own schools. The department is also ensuring that no unfair means is used during the board exams in the upcoming session. The duties of the observers will be on a rotation basis.

The Class X exams will take place in the morning shift while the Class XII exams in the evening shift.

“The Education Department has written to the police authorities and the district administration for their support during the examinations,” he added.
