The Medical Education Unit (MEU) of Government Medical College (GMC), Amritsar, conducted a two-day curriculum implementation support programme (CISP) that culminated on Wednesday, with 30 faculty members from various departments participating.
The workshop was inaugurated by Director-Principal Dr Rajiv Devgan, in the presence of Vice-Principal Dr JP Attri. Dr Anjali Jain of Christian Medical College attended as the National Medical Commission-appointed observer to oversee the proceedings.
The primary objective of the programme was to orient faculty members to competency-based medical education (CBME), and its updated components. Sessions focused on early clinical exposure, the AETCOM module, innovative teaching-learning methods, skill-based training and student-doctor clinical teaching practices.
Held under the guidance of MEU Coordinator Dr Loveena Oberoi, the workshop was facilitated by members of the curriculum committee — including Dr Mridu Gupta, Dr Ajay Chhabra, Dr Navyugraj Singh, Dr Jaspreet Singh, Dr Saroj Bala, Dr Rajiv Arora and Dr Bhupinder Singh Walia.
Addressing the participants, Dr Oberoi said adopting learner-centric and patient-centric approaches would significantly enhance the quality of medical education and ultimately improve patient care.
The workshop concluded with a feedback session and programme evaluation, followed by a formal vote of thanks.
