The three-day national conference, organised by the Association of Otolaryngologists at Sri Guru Ram Das (SGRD)University of Health Sciences, concluded here on Sunday. It was attended by around 400 delegates from across the country.
Thirty live surgeries on ear, nose and throat were performed by top surgeons from the country to share their research and findings.
Apart from lectures and panel discussions on latest advances in surgical and medical treatment of diseases of ENT, a special session was conducted on the role of robotic surgery in reducing the problem of snoring.
A major surgery involving a neck mass going till brain was performed successfully by internationally renowned skull-base surgeon Satish Jain of Jaipur.
Renowned surgeon Dr Satya Prakash Dubey performed seven cochlear implant surgeries to permanently cure congenital deafness in children under their initiative “Sound”.
Dr AP Singh, dean university and main organiser of the event, said, “The conference was of immense help for the doctors especially the young lot as they had learned from the experiences of the senior and topmost doctors.”
