The city police have busted two gangs involved in lifting vehicles. In the first case, Sher Singh of Maqboolpura, Prince of Azad Nagar, Mandeep Singh of Dholi Mohalla and Raman Mahajan of Sharifpura have been arrested. The police have recovered three motorcycles and a scooter.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (JS Walia) said the Division B police nabbed four youths from near Jahajgarh. At that time, a stolen bike and a scooter were seized. Their interrogation resulted in the seizure of two more bikes. They used to steal the same from Gurudwara Baba Deep Singh Ji Shaheed. They were produced before the court and brought on police remand for further interrogation.

Similarly, a team of Kot Mit Singh police post arrested three persons and recovered nine stolen bikes from their possession. Those arrested were identified as Gupreet Singh Gopi, Gurpreet Singh and Kulwant Singh, all residents of Asal Uttar village falling under Valtoha police station in Tarn Taran. He said they stole the same from different parts of the city and sold them after forging documents. He said a case was registered and further investigation was under way. The police expect more recoveries during their further course of interrogation.
