The Education Department has issued instructions to district authorities to ensure learning material of pre-primary classes of government schools is utilised properly. The schools are also provided a grant to help teachers to devise their material.

A total of 836 elementary schools in the district having pre-primary classes will receive more than Rs 15,000 for the teaching material. The steps have been being taken under ‘Padho Punjab, Padhao Punjab’ project of the department. The schools with no pre-primary students are not eligible for the funds.

The schools have also been instructed to maintain a financial record of the grant, besides ensuring that all the supplementary teaching products are used by the teacher.
