The Aam Aadmi Party accused the Bharatiya Janata Partyof encroaching upon a piece of the MC land adjacent to its Khanna Samarak office near Hathi Gate.
In a press conference here today, AAP city unit president Suresh Sharma alleged that as per revenue records, around 20 marlas of government property was behind the BJP office and around 20 marlas of land on both sides of the passage to the office was also a government property. “The BJP office has not only encroached upon the land on both sides of the passage but also the chunk behind it. The Municipal Corporation should get the land vacated,” he said.
In a complaint to MC Commissioner, Sharma also stated that no map of the building constructed for the BJP office was approved by the authorities concerned. He said that the corporation should get the matter investigated and take appropriate action.
When the government is claiming to take action against encroachers, it is required that the encroachments by office of the political party are also removed,” he demanded.
District Bharatiya Janata Party president Rajesh Honey said the allegations levelled by Aam Aadmi Party leader were baseless.
He said the government had allotted the land for Shaheed Harbans Lal Khanna Samarask Samiti and the samiti had paid the amount as applicable at that time to the government.
