Amritsar, March 26

BJP Lok Sabha in-charge of Punjab, Capt Abhimanyu, who is also the Finance Minister of Haryana, addressed party workers here on Tuesday.

Interacting with the media before his address, Capt Abhimanyu condemned the recent incident of attack on Sikhs and a gurdwara at Badsui village of Haryana’s Kaithal district.

“It is a disgraceful act and we condemn it strongly. We have ensured a probe into the matter is done to prevent any danger to the law and order situation in the state,” he said.

He also assured that the social and communal harmony would not be affected by the incident.

As the poll heat rises, Capt Abhimanyu asked the party workers to ensure that they work day and night for the success of the BJP-SAD alliance in the state.

When asked about the SAD’s decision to field Sukhbir Badal from Ferozepur this time, Capt Abhimanyu restrained from responding.

“That’s for the SAD to decide on which candidate will contest from what constituency. The BJP will concentrate on its share of seats,” he added.

Meanwhile, in his address to the party workers, he criticised the Congress for playing divisive politics and called the grand alliance an unstable prospect for nation.

“The Modi-led Central government has worked out people-centric policies, be it farmers, BPL families and women voters. These have benefitted marginal sections of society,” he added. — TNS
