Amandeep Hospital launches ‘state-of-the-art’ gym at Bohru in Amritsar
The Amandeep HOPE project provides free healthcare to over 54,000 patients across 852 villages
Amandeep Hospital has launched a ‘state-of-the-art gym’ in Bohru, in collaboration with Gram Panchayat Bohru and Sarpanch Captain Sardar Daljit Singh, with a vision of promoting sports and fitness in the village.
Dr Avtar Singh, an orthopaedic surgeon and philanthropist from Amritsar, inaugurated the gym on Saturday.
Dr Singh has spent over three decades providing exceptional medical care and philanthropic services including the Amandeep HOPE project, which provided free healthcare to over 54,000 patients across 852 villages, and Smile Train Project, offering free cleft lip and palate surgeries to underprivileged children.
“Our goal was to empower rural youth to lead healthy and productive lives. With the full support of Sarpanch Captain Sardar Daljit Singh Ji, we provided a safe space for sports and fitness, helping them channel their energy into positive pursuits and steer clear of substance abuse,” said Dr Avtar Singh, Chairman, Department of Orthopaedics, Amandeep Hospital, in partnership with Ujala Cygnus.
