Amritsar police arrest burglar

The Amritsar police on Wednesday arrested a burglar. The accused was identified as Sumit, a resident of the Lahori Gate area. He allegedly smashed a car window and decamped with a bag containing t-shirts and some important documents.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Vishaljit Singh said the incident occurred on April 22. CCTV footage of the burglary had gone viral on social media, following which police teams immediately sprung into action.

Using technical inputs and evidence, the police identified the accused and arrested him. The stolen bag and all materials inside it were also recovered from the accused.
