Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said preliminary investigations revealed that the accused were in direct contact with Pakistan-based handlers through various social media platforms. These handlers allegedly facilitated the smuggling of arms into India via the Attari border sector.

The consignments were reportedly dropped at pre-designated locations near the border and later retrieved by the accused for local distribution.

Police further disclosed that the smuggled weapons were being supplied to local criminal networks operating across Punjab, raising serious concerns over public safety and organized crime.
