Awareness workshop on water conservation, cleanliness at Rayya

An awareness event on water conservation, waste management and cleanliness was organised at the community hall of Shaheed Baba Jeevan Singh Mohalla in Rayya town near here on Thursday.

Speakers highlighted the importance of saving every drop of water, managing waste properly and keeping surroundings clean. They said a clean and green environment was a shared responsibility and urged residents to actively participate in environmental protection efforts.

Addressing the gathering, community leaders and social workers encouraged people to adopt eco-friendly habits. Free saplings were also distributed among residents, and they were motivated to plant more trees.

Several councillors, community representatives and residents attended the seminar and pledged support for environmental conservation initiatives in the area.

The event was held under the guidance of Rayya Nagar Panchayat president Sanjeev Bhandari and councillor Vishal Mannan. The seminar was organised with the support of social worker Sukhwinder Singh Mattewal and local officials.
