Bhagwan Valmiki’s Pargat Divas celebrated

Pargat Divas of Bhagwan Valmiki was on Sunday celebrated with religious fervor and devotion.
A religious programme was organised under the leadership of Ravinder Hans, convener of Phule Ambedkar Joint Action Committee, Punjab, at Bhushanpura.
Religious ceremony commenced with a ‘satsang’ (congregation). Guests delivered lectures on the life of Valmiki and elaborated his contribution in writing the Ramayan. Hans said the occasion was dedicated to education and women. Those women who contributed meaningfully to society and students were felicitated with stationary items. Stalls of langar were installed at various parts of the city to celebrate the occasion.
