AMRITSAR: Two unknown motorcycle borne miscreants robbed Rs 50,000 from a finance company employee in Ranjit Avenue on Saturday.

Two unknown motorcycle borne miscreants robbed Rs 50,000 from a finance company employee in Ranjit Avenue on Saturday. The victim, Manjit Singh, was going to Chheharta after collecting the installments from the Housing Board Colony when the incident took place.

Manjit stated to police that he worked with Bharat Finance Private limited. He said he had collected installments from the Housing Board Colony and was going towards Chheharta. He said when he reached near Karampura School in Ranjit Avnue, two youths travelling on a motorcycle snatched his bag which contained Rs 50,000 and other documents.

The police have registered a case under Sections 379-B of the IPC.

In another incident, Harpreet Kaur, a Mohali resident claimed that her bag was snatched by two motorcycle-borne men on Majitha road on Saturday. She said she along with her father was going to a food joint around 10 pm. Harpreet said accused came from behind and snatched her purse containing Rs 10,000 and an I-phone, among others.

The police have registered a case under Section 379-B of the IPC. Investigating Officer ASI Prem Singh said they have scrutinised the CCTV footage but found no clue of miscreants.
